Here is a selection of the motorcycle cameras and camera equipment we use while on our adventure rides.
This is not a review or how I think these camera's are best for motorcycle filming.
This is just showing you what we use!
Hope it's useful to you... Cheers Mark & Nay
Great little High Definition video camera for filming on and off the motorcycle.
Simple to use and operate!
The rotating screen is fantastic and really comes in handy at times.
The sound quality is another great thing about this camera.
This is my main filming camera.
When all is said and done I think just about any camera on the market today are great for motorcycle filming or photos.
It really boils down to what suits you and what camera is in your budget range.
I only use the photos for putting on the internet and my motorcycle videos are for uploading to YouTube.
If you were looking to produce for TV then you need to make sure your getting the right equipment.
This replaces my old FujuFilm camera! You can see the old camera at the bottom of the page.
The camera is small and fits into just about any of my pockets, whether it be a shirt pocket, jeans pocket or my leather jacket pockets.
Simple to use... point and click!
It also has those great preset modes like "Sunset", "Night" etc. which makes taking cool photos on a motorcycle trip a breeze.
The Panasonic has all the great features and uses as my old FujuFilm camera, but with the added benefits of the following:
1. I can access the battery and SDHC card without having to remove my quick-release mount.
2. It has the option of taking the same photo size as the Nikon D3100 which I now use as a standard size. This means that I don't have to crop photos taken with one camera to match the other camera for putting into web pages.
3. The on/off button and the shoot/view button is a switch, which is so much easier while trying to grab that quick photo when wearing your motorcycle gloves.
This camera can also shoot HD video footage which I didn't think I would need, but it has already been a handy little option.
Any of the small compact digital cameras on the market would be just as good as this one.
I have only just bought this motorcycle helmet camera and am yet to see it's full performance and usefulness.
REMOTE CONTROL... What a Ripper!
Shoots High Definition footage and the external microphone is absolutely magic.
I wear an open face helmet and with the aid of a light weight material face mask I get great sound quality.

Ok... I'm a point and click type of guy, so this camera is used mostly by Nay.
It has the "Auto" option to just point and click but
the size of it is a big downfall when your on a motorcycle adventure ride.
I only take this camera on the motorcycle when Nay comes along as she knows how to take those WOW factor shots.
The Nikon D3100 really does take beautiful photos!
The above photo was taken with a slow shutter speed and a 10 sec timer. It was bloody hard to press the button & then jump over rocks and then stay very still...LOL
One of the best investments I made was purchasing this motorcycle camera mounting equipment.
All of my cameras, mounts and tripods are
interchangeable within seconds, which is extremely handy when on the go.
I normally use the suction mount on the petrol tank and the clamp mount goes on various spots on the motorbike.
This setup saves me a shit load of time and effort!

You can find all this stuff and a whole lot more at camzilla.com.au They are really great people to deal with and their service is fantastic! I highly recommend them... this is not a paid advertisment. |
This tripod comes on all our motorcycle trips and rides and is used for many different things.
the Velbon Ultra Maxi M tripod has a "Twist Lock" leg-locking system, which allows its legs to lock and unlock quickly and simply with just a half turn twist.
This really speeds up the set-up time.
It's small enough to carry in my saddlebags and on the sissy bag under some straps.
The tripod's unique leg assembly allows for a five-section tripod with a great expansion and contraction ratio. When extended it's 140cms and when collapsed it's only 34cms.
Things I use it for are: Video, photos, light stand, and a height adjustable table... YES you read right... I have a small board that locks into the quick release and creates a table (very handy when camping).

Motorcycle Camera Tripod This is the tripod I use on all of my motorcycle trips and rides. You will see why I think it's such a great tripod for use when motorcycling and I also show a couple of different things I use it for too. |

just a tips...
Try using a Pistol-grip camera mount.
Stable and easy to adjust to get different views while riding.
My grip cost like 20$ US.
Just a tips =)
